2300d68e57 mips: pci-mt7620: rework initialization procedure
Move the reset operation to the common part to reduce the code
redundancy. They are actually the same and needed for all SoCs.
Disabling power and clock are unnecessary for MT7620 and will be
removed. In vendor SDK, it's used to save the power when the PCI
driver is not selected. The MT7628 GPIO pinctrl has been removed
because this should be done in device-tree. Some delay intervals
have also been increased to follow the recommendations of the SoC
SDK and datasheet. Tested on both MT7620 and MT7628.

3dbb082768 mips: pci-mt7620: fix bridge register access
Host bridge registers and PCI RC control registers have different
memory base. pcie_m32() is used to write the RC control registers
instead of bridge registers. This patch introduces bridge_m32()
and use it to operate bridge registers to fix the access issue.

9036bd0efc PCI: Align head space better
When a bridge window contains big and small resource(s), the small
resource(s) may not amount to the half of the size of the big resource
which would allow calculate_head_align() to shrink the head alignment.
This results in always placing the small resource(s) after the big
resource.

In general, it would be good to be able to place the small resource(s)
before the big resource to achieve better utilization of the address space.
In the cases where the large resource can only fit at the end of the
window, it is even required.

However, carrying the information over from pbus_size_mem() and
calculate_head_align() to __pci_assign_resource() and
pcibios_align_resource() is not easy with the current data structures.

A somewhat hacky way to move the non-aligning tail part to the head is
possible within pcibios_align_resource(). The free space between the start
of the free space span and the aligned start address can be compared with
the non-aligning remainder of the size. If the free space is larger than
the remainder, placing the remainder before the start address is possible.
This relocation should generally work, because PCI resources consist only
power-of-2 atoms.

Various arch requirements may still need to override the relocation, so the
relocation is only applied selectively in such cases.

3fa40d305b MIPS: PCI: Remove unnecessary second application of align
Aligning res->start by align inside pcibios_align_resource() is unnecessary
because caller of pcibios_align_resource() is __find_resource_space() that
aligns res->start with align before calling pcibios_align_resource().

Aligning by align in case of IORESOURCE_IO && start & 0x300 cannot ever
result in changing start either because 0x300 bits would have not survived
the earlier alignment if align was large enough to have an impact.

Thus, remove the duplicated aligning from pcibios_align_resource().

f699bcc8bc resource: Pass full extent of empty space to resource_alignf callback
__find_resource_space() calculates the full extent of empty space but only
passes the aligned space to resource_alignf callback. In some situations,
the callback may choose take advantage of the free space before the
requested alignment.

Pass the full extent of the calculated empty space to resource_alignf
callback as an additional parameter.

bf4afc53b7 Convert 'alloc_obj' family to use the new default GFP_KERNEL argument
This was done entirely with mindless brute force, using

    git grep -l '\<k[vmz]*alloc_objs*(.*, GFP_KERNEL)' |
        xargs sed -i 's/\(alloc_objs*(.*\), GFP_KERNEL)/\1)/'

to convert the new alloc_obj() users that had a simple GFP_KERNEL
argument to just drop that argument.

Note that due to the extreme simplicity of the scripting, any slightly
more complex cases spread over multiple lines would not be triggered:
they definitely exist, but this covers the vast bulk of the cases, and
the resulting diff is also then easier to check automatically.

For the same reason the 'flex' versions will be done as a separate
conversion.

69050f8d6d treewide: Replace kmalloc with kmalloc_obj for non-scalar types
This is the result of running the Coccinelle script from
scripts/coccinelle/api/kmalloc_objs.cocci. The script is designed to
avoid scalar types (which need careful case-by-case checking), and
instead replace kmalloc-family calls that allocate struct or union
object instances:

Single allocations:	kmalloc(sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_obj(TYPE, ...)

Array allocations:	kmalloc_array(COUNT, sizeof(TYPE), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_objs(TYPE, COUNT, ...)

Flex array allocations:	kmalloc(struct_size(PTR, FAM, COUNT), ...)
are replaced with:	kmalloc_flex(*PTR, FAM, COUNT, ...)

(where TYPE may also be *VAR)

The resulting allocations no longer return "void *", instead returning
"TYPE *".

a97fbc3ee3 syscore: Pass context data to callbacks
Several drivers can benefit from registering per-instance data along
with the syscore operations. To achieve this, move the modifiable fields
out of the syscore_ops structure and into a separate struct syscore that
can be registered with the framework. Add a void * driver data field for
drivers to store contextual data that will be passed to the syscore ops.

f294a5fd34 MIPS: Malta: Use pcibios_align_resource() to block io range
According to Maciej W. Rozycki <macro@orcam.me.uk>, the
mips_pcibios_init() for malta adjusts root bus IO resource start
address to prevent interfering with PIIX4 I/O cycle decoding. Adjusting
lower bound leaves PIIX4 IO resources outside of the root bus resource
and assign_fixed_resource_on_bus() does not link the resources into the
resource tree.

Prior to commit ae81aad5c2 ("MIPS: PCI: Use pci_enable_resources()") the
arch specific pcibios_enable_resources() did not check if the resources
were assigned which diverges from what PCI core checks, effectively hiding
the PIIX4 IO resources were not properly within the resource tree. After
starting to use pcibios_enable_resources() from PCI core, enabling PIIX4
fails:

  ata_piix 0000:00:0a.1: BAR 0 [io 0x01f0-0x01f7]: not claimed; can't enable device
ata_piix 0000:00:0a.1: probe with driver ata_piix failed with error -22

MIPS PCI code already has support for enforcing lower bounds using
PCIBIOS_MIN_IO in pcibios_align_resource() without altering the IO window
start address itself. Make malta PCI code too to use PCIBIOS_MIN_IO.

ae81aad5c2 MIPS: PCI: Use pci_enable_resources()
pci-legacy.c under MIPS has a copy of pci_enable_resources() named as
pcibios_enable_resources(). Having own copy of same functionality could
lead to inconsistencies in behavior, especially now as
pci_enable_resources() and the bridge window resource flags behavior are
going to be altered by upcoming changes.

The check for !r->start && r->end is already covered by the more generic
checks done in pci_enable_resources().

Call pci_enable_resources() from MIPS's pcibios_enable_device() and remove
pcibios_enable_resources().

0810f121e0 MIPS: Switch to irq_domain_create_*()
irq_domain_add_*() interfaces are going away as being obsolete now.
Switch to the preferred irq_domain_create_*() ones. Those differ in the
node parameter: They take more generic struct fwnode_handle instead of
struct device_node. Therefore, of_fwnode_handle() is added around the
original parameter.

Note some of the users can likely use dev->fwnode directly instead of
indirect of_fwnode_handle(dev->of_node). But dev->fwnode is not
guaranteed to be set for all, so this has to be investigated on case to
case basis (by people who can actually test with the HW).

e70140ba0d Get rid of 'remove_new' relic from platform driver struct
The continual trickle of small conversion patches is grating on me, and
is really not helping. Just get rid of the 'remove_new' member
function, which is just an alias for the plain 'remove', and had a
comment to that effect:

  /*
   * .remove_new() is a relic from a prototype conversion of .remove().
   * New drivers are supposed to implement .remove(). Once all drivers are
   * converted to not use .remove_new any more, it will be dropped.
   */

This was just a tree-wide 'sed' script that replaced '.remove_new' with
'.remove', with some care taken to turn a subsequent tab into two tabs
to make things line up.

I did do some minimal manual whitespace adjustment for places that used
spaces to line things up.

Then I just removed the old (sic) .remove_new member function, and this
is the end result. No more unnecessary conversion noise.

277a036312 MIPS: pci: lantiq: restore reset gpio polarity
Commit 90c2d2eb7a ("MIPS: pci: lantiq: switch to using gpiod API") not
only switched to the gpiod API, but also inverted / changed the polarity
of the GPIO.

According to the PCI specification, the RST# pin is an active-low
signal. However, most of the device trees that have been widely used for
a long time (mainly in the openWrt project) define this GPIO as
active-high and the old driver code inverted the signal internally.

Apparently there are actually boards where the reset gpio must be
operated inverted. For this reason, we cannot use the GPIOD_OUT_LOW/HIGH
flag for initialization. Instead, we must explicitly set the gpio to
value 1 in order to take into account any "GPIO_ACTIVE_LOW" flag that
may have been set.

In order to remain compatible with all these existing device trees, we
should therefore keep the logic as it was before the commit.

ae9daffd90 MIPS: Routerboard 532: Fix vendor retry check code
read_config_dword() contains strange condition checking ret for a
number of values. The ret variable, however, is always zero because
config_access() never returns anything else. Thus, the retry is always
taken until number of tries is exceeded.

The code looks like it wants to check *val instead of ret to see if the

29b83a64df MIPS: Octeon: Add PCIe link status check
The standard PCIe configuration read-write interface is used to
access the configuration space of the peripheral PCIe devices
of the mips processor after the PCIe link surprise down, it can
generate kernel panic caused by "Data bus error". So it is
necessary to add PCIe link status check for system protection.
When the PCIe link is down or in training, assigning a value
of 0 to the configuration address can prevent read-write behavior
to the configuration space of peripheral PCIe devices, thereby
preventing kernel panic.

f7396eefd6 MIPS: PCI: Convert to platform remove callback returning void
The .remove() callback for a platform driver returns an int which makes
many driver authors wrongly assume it's possible to do error handling by
returning an error code. However the value returned is ignored (apart
from emitting a warning) and this typically results in resource leaks.
To improve here there is a quest to make the remove callback return
void. In the first step of this quest all drivers are converted to
.remove_new() which already returns void. Eventually after all drivers
are converted, .remove_new() is renamed to .remove().

Trivially convert this driver from always returning zero in the remove
callback to the void returning variant.

While destroying alignment of the assignments in bridge_driver, do it

a343ca9bd7 MIPS: ath25: clean up non-kernel-doc comment warning
Don't use "/**" kernel-doc notation for comments that are not in
