99ef60d119 USB / Thunderbolt changes for 7.1-rc1
Here is the big set of USB and Thunderbolt changes for 7.1-rc1.

Lots of little things in here, nothing major, just constant
improvements, updates, and new features. Highlights are:
   - new USB power supply driver support (will cause merge conflicts in
drivers/power/supply/Makefile, but it's a simple fix) These changes
did touch outside of drivers/usb/ but got acks from the relevant
     mantainers for them.
   - dts file updates and conversions
   - string function conversions into "safer" ones
   - new device quirks
   - xhci driver updates
   - usb gadget driver minor fixes
   - typec driver additions and updates
   - small number of thunderbolt driver changes
   - dwc3 driver updates and additions of new hardware support
   - other minor driver updates

All of these have been in the linux-next tree for a while with no
 reported issues

Pull power sequencing updates from Bartosz Golaszewski:
"For this release we have an extension of the pwrseq-pcie-m2 driver
with support for PCIe M.2 Key E connectors.

The rest of the commits fulfill a supporting role: document the
hardware in DT bindings, provide required serdev helpers (this has
been provided in an immutable branch to Rob Herring so you may see it
in his PR as well) and is followed up by some Kconfig fixes from Arnd.

  Summary:

   - add support for the PCIe M.2 Key E connectors in pwrseq-pcie-m2

   - describe PCIe M.2 Mechanical Key E connectors in DT bindings

   - add serdev helpers for looking up devices by OF nodes

5970c1dafb dt-bindings: connector: Add PCIe M.2 Mechanical Key E connector
Add the devicetree binding for PCIe M.2 Mechanical Key E connector defined
in the PCI Express M.2 Specification, r4.0, sec 5.1.2. This connector
provides interfaces like PCIe or SDIO to attach the WiFi devices to the
host machine, USB or UART+PCM interfaces to attach the Bluetooth (BT)
devices. Spec also provides an optional interface to connect the UIM card,
but that is not covered in this binding.

The connector provides a primary power supply of 3.3v, along with an
optional 1.8v VIO supply for the Adapter I/O buffer circuitry operating at
1.8v sideband signaling.

The connector also supplies optional signals in the form of GPIOs for fine
grained power management.

dt-bindings: connector: Add the GOcontroll Moduline module slot bindings
Add the bindings that describe a GOcontroll Moduline module slot. This
slot provides all the interfaces to interface with a Moduline compatible
IO module. The actual module is not reasonable to describe as it can be
swapped at will, with this connector the driver will be able to probe
for a module on boot.

The connector consists of 2 parts, one part for interfacing with the SoC
and main board, the other part has 13 IO channels for the module to
interact with the outside world. The functions of these IO channels are
determined by the type of module in the slot. The IO on the SoC side is
as follows:

 - a 3v3 supply, this tends to be the logic level of the module and its
   microcontroller
 - a 5v0 supply, this can be used to power low power peripherals on the
   module
 - a 6v-8v supply, this can be used for high power peripherals on the
   module
 - a 6v-30v supply, this tends to be a dirty supply that comes from the
controller supply after some circuit protection, or is the same as
   the 6v-8v supply.
 - an SPI bus which carries the communication between the SoC and the
   microcontroller on the module.
 - an I2C bus shared between the SoC and all module slots which can
   carry direct module-to-module communication.
 - a reset line
 - an interrupt line that indicates a clear to transmit signal
 - a sync line shared between the SoC and all module slots which could
be used to synchronize modules for time sensitive IO spread across
   modules.
 - a SMBus alert line that is shared between the modules but is not
connected to the SoC so that is ignored.

A slot-number property is used to identify the physical location of a
module slot. Without it, it would be impossible to identify which module
to control if there are multiple of one type, to address the desired IO.

d69c6ddd01 dt-bindings: Fix JSON pointers
The correct syntax for JSON pointers begins with a '/' after the '#'.
Without a '/', the string should be interpreted as a subschema
identifier. The jsonschema module currently doesn't handle subschema
identifiers and incorrectly allows JSON pointers to begin without a '/'.
Let's fix this before it becomes a problem when jsonschema module is
fixed.

9805529ec5 ARM: device tree updates for 5.11
Across all platforms, there is a continued move towards DT schema for
validating the dts files. As a result there are bug fixes for mistakes
that are found using these schema, in addition to warnings from the
 dtc compiler.

As usual, many changes are for adding support for additional on-chip
and on-board components in the machines we already support.

The newly supported SoCs for this release are:

  - MStar Infinity2M, a low-end IP camera chip based on a dual-core
Cortex-A7, otherwise similar to the Infinity chip we already support.
This is also known as the SigmaStar SSD202D, and we add support for
    the Honestar ssd201htv2 development kit.

  - Nuvoton NPCM730, a Cortex-A9 based Baseboard Management Controller
(BMC), in the same family as the NPCM750. This gets used in the Ampere
Altra based "Fii Kudo" server and the Quanta GSJ, both of which are
    added as well.

  - Broadcom BCM4908, a 64-bit home router chip based on Broadcom's own
Brahma-B53 CPU. Support is also added for the Asus ROG Rapture
GT-AC5300 high-end WiFi router based on this chip.

  - Mediatek MT8192 is a new SoC based on eight Cortex-A76/A55 cores,
meant for faster Chromebooks and tablets. It gets added along with
    its reference design.

  - Mediatek MT6779 (Helio P90) is a high-end phone chip from last year's
generation, also added along with its reference board. This one is
    still based on Cortex-A75/A55.

  - Mediatek MT8167 is a version of the already supported MT8516 chip,
both based on Cortex-A35. It gets added along with the "Pumpkin"
single board computer, but is likely to also make its way into low-end
    tablets in the future.

For the already supported chips, there are a number of new boards.
Interestingly there are more 32-bit machines added this time than
64-bit. Here is a brief list of the new boards:

  - Three new Mikrotik router variants based on Marvell Prestera
98DX3236, a close relative of the more common Armada XP

  - A reference board for the Marvell Armada 382

  - Three new servers using ASpeed baseboard management controllers,
the actual machines being from Bytedance, Facebook and IBM,
and one machine using the Nuvoton NPCM750 BMC.

  - The Galaxy Note 10.1 (P4) tablet, using an Exynos 4412.

  - The usual set of 32-bit i.MX industrial/embedded hardware:
    * Protonic WD3 (tractor e-cockpit)
    * Kamstrup OMNIA Flex Concentrator (smart grid platform)
    * Van der Laan LANMCU (food storage)
    * Altesco I6P (vehicle inspection stations)
    * PHYTEC phyBOARD-Segin/phyCORE-i.MX6UL baseboard

  - DH electronics STM32MP157C DHCOM, a PicoITX carrier board
for the aleady supported DHCOM module

  - Three new Allwinner SoC based single-board computers:
    * NanoPi R1 (H3 based)
    * FriendlyArm ZeroPi (H3 based)
    * Elimo Initium SBC (S3 based)

  - Ouya Game Console based on Nvidia Tegra 3

  - Version 5 of the already supported Zynq Z-Turn MYIR Board

  - LX2162AQDS, a reference platform for NXP Layerscape
    LX2162A, which is a repackaged 16-core LX2160A

  - A series of Kontron i.MX8M Mini baseboard/SoM versions

  - Espressobin Ultra, a new variant of the popular Armada 3700 based board,

  - IEI Puzzle-M801, a rackmount network appliance based on
    Marvell Armada 8040

  - Microsoft Lumia 950 XL, a phone

  - HDK855 and HDK865 Hardware development kits for Qualcomm
    sm8250 and sm8150, respectively

  - Three new board variants of the "Trogdor" Chromebook
    (sc7180)

  - New board variants of the Renesas based "Kingfisher" and
    "HiHope" reference boards

  - Kobol Helios64, an open source NAS appliance based on Rockchips
    RK3399

  - Engicam PX30.Core, a SoM based on Rockchip PX30, along with
    a few carrier boards.

There is one conflict in mt6577_auxadc.txt, which got replaced in
another tree and modified here, the modification is already part of
 the new file.

8f8986e932 dt-bindings: Merge gpio-usb-b-connector with usb-connector
The binding for usb-connector is a superset of gpio-usb-b-connector. One
major difference is that gpio-usb-b-connector requires at least one of
the vbus-gpios and id-gpios properties to be specified. Merge the two
bindings by adding the compatible string combination for the GPIO USB-B
variant and an extra conditional for the required properties list to the
usb-connector.yaml file.

3d21a46093 dt-bindings: Remove cases of 'allOf' containing a '$ref'
json-schema versions draft7 and earlier have a weird behavior in that
any keywords combined with a '$ref' are ignored (silently). The correct
form was to put a '$ref' under an 'allOf'. This behavior is now changed
in the 2019-09 json-schema spec and '$ref' can be mixed with other
keywords. The json-schema library doesn't yet support this, but the
tooling now does a fixup for this and either way works.

This has been a constant source of review comments, so let's change this
treewide so everyone copies the simpler syntax.

Scripted with ruamel.yaml with some manual fixups. Some minor whitespace
changes from the script.

9f60a65bc5 dt-bindings: Clean-up schema indentation formatting
Fix various inconsistencies in schema indentation. Most of these are
list indentation which should be 2 spaces more than the start of the

scripts which do transforms on the schema files.

431a30b7d4 dt-bindings: Convert usb-connector to YAML format.
Convert the usb-connector.txt bindings file to YAML format. This allows
it to be used in dt_bindings_check verification. This patch was
born out of a patch series for the addition of a Type C connector
class port driver[1].

An attempt has been made to maintain the same documentation text and
example structure as was in the .txt file, but wherever needed
modifications have been made to satisfy dt_bindings_check.

Also, update all references to usb-connector.txt to now use
usb-connector.yaml.

da0b7c7766 dt-bindings: connector: Add self-powered property
>From USB_PD_R3_0
7.1.5 Response to Hard Resets
Device operation during and after a Hard Reset is defined as follows:
Self-powered devices Should Not disconnect from USB during a Hard Reset
(see Section 9.1.2).
Bus powered devices will disconnect from USB during a Hard Reset due to the
loss of their power source.

Therefore it is necessary to know whether the port belongs to
a device which is self powered or bus powered. This change
adds "self-powered" flag to the connector class which present indicates
that the port belongs to a device that is self powered. Else it is
bus powered usb device.
